The room was comfortable, and I liked having a two-burner stove and full-size fridge. It was also cheap. But after a week, I was told I couldn't stay longer than two weeks at a time. Red Roof said there was no such rule when I called, and the manager then told me plainly to leave and find somewhere else. I asked to see the policy, but the employee couldn't show it to me and the manager kept avoiding me. I still don't know what I'd done wrong; nobody complained about my behavior, and I got my deposit back. There was litter all over the ground, including a razor blade. They don't provide do-not-disturb signs, and staff can enter whenever they choose for cleaning or, in my case, a "random inspection." That entry policy was in the paperwork I signed digitally, though they rushed me to scroll to the bottom instead of read it. And breakfast was a basket of Twinkies, seriously. I won't stay there again. The rooms are nice and inexpensive, so it might work for a quick stop if service doesn't matter to you.

It's a quiet, convenient spot for getting around the DC area. The rooms are clean and feel secure, and the staff are consistently friendly. Johnny especially makes me feel welcome and always gets me laughing.

For a place that's basically only good for sleeping, this costs too much for the experience. I booked after a long day because it was near my destination, affordable, and advertised breakfast. At 10 pm, I also found out there was a $100 deposit, which seemed high compared with other hotels on the third-party app. The room felt old and bare. There were no basic phone charging outlets, and the smoke detector was about the most noticeable thing in there. Only one light worked. Breakfast was two canisters of warm coffee and some Twinkies. I was furious that this was considered acceptable for paying guests. People say you get what you pay for, but with the revenue these hotels bring in, they could do better. I should've checked the reviews before booking. I wouldn't recommend this place or pay for this experience again.

The rooms are nearly done being upgraded, and the ones we've seen look great. We haven't had any bug problems, and anything we've needed was handled right away. It's close to the interstate, shopping, and places to eat within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

The staff were friendly and the location was okay, but the room had roaches and other bugs. We drove from North Carolina starting at 6 am for a wedding, then checked out at 10 pm after the wedding and made the 4.5-hour drive home. We had our dogs with us, and I felt awful that they had to be in that room or touch the bed. The tub also had black stains, and honestly I didn't want to touch anything.
