Americas Best Value Inn Chanute

The rooms were clean, the staff were friendly, and the price was great. This is easily the best Knights Inn I’ve stayed at. If you’re here for work, ask about the weekly rate.

There were chairs sitting in the pool, and the whole place seemed poorly kept. The sheets were incredibly thin, old, and stained, and the motel was dirty and stank. They also charged me an extra $10 for a non-smoking room. I can’t understand the reviews giving this place more than two stars. Run, don’t walk, away.

Our auction company spent much of 2024 in Southeast Kansas, and this became our regular place to stay with the staff. I got to know Andy on those trips and heard his story. He’s originally from India, has a thick accent, and speaks very good English. You can tell how proud he is of what he’s built as a businessman in America, and I was glad to support him. His pride and work ethic show in how he runs the motel. This is an affordable, service-minded place for working people, not a five-star honeymoon resort. It’s been around for years, but Andy has kept it meticulously maintained. The fresh paint, clean rooms, and things in good working order make that clear. The seashell bathtubs have an old-fashioned feel, and we also enjoyed the pool during the hot summer days. I read some of the lower reviews and suspect they may come from people Andy didn’t want to accommodate. I’ve stayed places that let druggies stay, and it never turned out well, so I can believe he sometimes asks people to leave. I hope we book another auction nearby and I get to see Andy again.

We’re really glad we gave this place a try. The service was great, the rooms were clean, and the pool was open and fantastic. It’s a great value, too.
