Days Inn by Wyndham Charleston WV

We booked an accessible first-floor room, but after my card was charged we learned the whole first floor was closed. There was just one cart on the property, and it barely fit anything. Once we finally reached the room, the tub had mold and mildew, and the ceiling was coming down. The sheets hadn't been changed after the previous guests, just pulled back up, and had blood stains. It was a horrible stay. We'll never stay at a Days Inn again.

I've been here a week and I'm glad I found the place. It's pretty quiet, clean, and everyone has been kind and courteous. There aren't any amenities, but breakfast is free. Works perfectly for me.

The rooms are decent, but I wouldn't go barefoot on the floors, and I'm not convinced they dealt with the roaches in the room we had before. Hopefully I'm wrong. My husband found cockroaches there the morning after we spent the night with our baby, and they refunded us just $7. At least we'd only booked one night that week. We tried again this week to save money, and now, on the second night of four, the power has been out since early afternoon. There's no generator. While I'm at work, I'm worried about my husband and baby in a dark room without AC or heat. This isn't an area where you'd want to walk around for fresh air at night. I'm also concerned about a woman we met a couple rooms down who needs oxygen and has no power overnight. The staff's only response is that it's not their fault. The outage itself isn't their fault, but having no generator is. The front desk worker said she could try to reach the owners, who are out of town. I can't afford the Hilton, but the money we hoped to save here just isn't worth it.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but the rooms were awful. We got two accessible rooms, and both smelled so strongly of mold and mildew that I went next door to Family Dollar for room sanitizer spray. The floors were dirty and there were mold spots on the shower curtains. My 90-year-old uncle was coughing a lot the next day when we checked out, and ended up sick. Breakfast wasn't great either: premade egg and cheese omelets, waffles, yogurt, mini muffins, coffee, and juice. The location was tucked away and a bit hard to find. I'd booked another night a few days later, but canceled and went elsewhere. This felt more like a Super 8 than a Days Inn.
