The breakfast had plenty to choose from, including fresh fruit salad, yogurt, juices, oatmeal, egg dishes, pastries, and hot drinks. The 4 o’clock wine and cheese hour was a real treat, especially with Barbara hosting. She welcomed us warmly, shared her knowledge of Charleston, kept us laughing, and brought out crudités. The staff were friendly and attentive from check-in through checkout, including the helpful valet team. Our room was lovely, with a comfortable bed, good linens, and plenty of amenities. We’d choose a slightly larger room next time, though. The location made it easy to explore the city on foot, and we’d love to stay at the Andrew Pickney again.

We had a quiet, roomy, comfortable room, and the hotel staff gave outstanding service. Breakfast was hot, and the afternoon wine and appetizers were a nice extra. The Andrew Pinckney Inn is well placed for walking around downtown Charleston, with restaurants, shops, museums, and many major historic sites close by. We’d gladly recommend it for a Charleston visit.

The sunlit solarium on the fifth floor was a lovely place to sit, with lots of seating and a view above the city. We relaxed there with a book or laptop and enjoyed getting to know other guests. The breakfast was delicious, and the welcome hour had a thoughtful spread of wine and snacks. Staff were warm and accommodating, especially the people serving breakfast and wine. It’s also handy for exploring Charleston’s architecture and food. We appreciated everyone there and hope to stay again.

The bathroom was the one real drawback. The vanity area is nice, but the toilet and shower space is tiny, even by the standards of places I’ve seen in Europe. The door barely closes, and it’s the only door. Still, the charm, central location, friendly staff, and terrific breakfast made us love our stay. There was fresh fruit every day, along with pastries, bread, egg dishes, meat, yogurt, and cereal. Miss Cynthia made our first breakfast especially lovely. The inn is made up of several buildings right in historic Charleston, a block from the marketplace, with restaurants and bars all around and South of Broad within walking distance. I’d absolutely recommend it.

We felt comfortable walking around the city, even at night, and the room itself was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and handled everything we needed. Breakfast had lots of good choices, and the nightly wine and cheese reception was a nice touch. Try the cranberry lemon curd muffins. The inn is close to everything, just a couple of blocks from the market and less than a block from three carriage companies. Parking through their valet was the cheapest option, and once we parked we didn’t have to worry about the car until we left. Hanks restaurant is on the back side of the inn, and we loved the food and atmosphere there.
