The location made this a great Charleston pick for me. There’s a DASH/Carta stop right across the street, along with the visitor center and Charlotte Museum, and lots of sights are nearby. The staff were super friendly, and breakfast was free with more than the usual continental choices. I also liked having coffee in the lobby around the clock. I’d recommend it and stay here again if I return to Charleston.

Breakfast was fresh, kept clean, and well stocked, and the waffle mix was surprisingly good even though I’m not much of a waffle person. The hotel was nice and clean, with great service. There are some good places nearby, though they can get crowded. I’d stay again.

Charleston Music Hall is right next door, which is a big plus if you’re going to a concert. We’ll be back for another stay. Matt greeted us with a smile both when we checked in and when we checked out, and he’s a real asset to the property. Our room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast had lots of choices, came out hot, and the staff kept it fresh and stocked.

The location was good, but the maintenance was very poor. One morning the shower valve stuck in the ON position. Maintenance came by, but the fix seemed temporary and badly done, and the same problem came back that night, causing more disturbance and inconvenience. For a Hampton property, that was disappointing. With maintenance like this, the stay wasn’t worth it, and there are better choices nearby.

I keep coming back because the location works well for me, and the staff are great. Breakfast is free, and the place is clean, though it could use some updates. This last time, room 227 was disappointing. The view was bad and included what looked like a bird carcass, and I kept hearing banging near the door without figuring out where it came from. Hopefully my next trip goes better.
