Hyatt Place Miami Airport-East

The hotel felt secure, with entry by buzzing in or using your room card. The pool was well kept and had complimentary towels, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our spacious room was clean, and they provided a free crib. We also enjoyed the fresh breakfast buffet, which had lots of choices. I was there with my husband and baby, and it was honestly my best hotel experience. It's close to the airport, and although a train passes now and then, the noise wasn't as bad as I expected. We were glad to get away from the horrors of La Quinta Inn next door, especially since the prices were pretty much the same. The area outside the hotel isn't very walkable, so renting a car is a must. We'll definitely come back when we visit Miami again.

The room and hallway felt neglected. The carpet was old and rippled, and the room stayed damp and smelled of mold or mildew for both nights I was there. I arrived around 1:30pm, but there were lots of people waiting to check in before 3 and no rooms were ready. I finally got a room at about 2:15. Whenever I needed help, the front desk was usually unattended, so I waited 5-15 minutes each time. A bell might help. The airport is very close, which means you hear and feel planes taking off day and night. Beyond that, there aren't really any restaurants within walking distance. A very disappointing stay, especially as a Hyatt loyalty member.

I'm from Miami and could have stayed with family, but chose a hotel instead. This was an adequate alternative. It's clean and secure, and breakfast was available, though I never tried it. It always looked crowded, so I can't say what the food was like. The location worked well for getting around. Visitors heading downtown, to the beach, or to Coral Gables have good access from here, with limited traffic. Parking is limited, though, and that could be a major problem if every guest had a car.

I was here for one night with the Chicago Music Cruise. My room, number 403, was very nice, and I couldn't hear any planes from inside, even though the hotel is right by the airport. Outside or by the pool, it's really loud. Breakfast is free, and I think this is a pretty good hotel.
