Breakfast was included and very fresh, with omelets made to order, and the valet staff were efficient and pleasant. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff were amazingly helpful. It’s in a great spot within walking distance of much of downtown Detroit. We walked to the Lions stadium, just a safe and very quick 3 to 4 blocks away. It seemed to be mostly adults staying there, but I’d still consider it family friendly. There’s even a small playground across the street for little kids. I’d absolutely recommend it.

The property is immaculate, and guest service clearly comes first. We stopped by the rooftop Monarch Club on our way back to the room. Timothy, the GM, explained that they weren’t accepting walk-ins. We didn’t mind since it hadn’t been part of our plans, but he still sent us off with a free slice of cheesecake. This team really understands hospitality. Superb property!

We stayed in room 807, a King mini suite. The rooms have a clean, modern feel, and it’s impressive how well they made use of the space. It’s hard to believe this was once an abandoned building. The hotel’s redevelopment is really well done. The location is great, right by the Z parking deck and an easy walk from lots of bars and restaurants.

The room felt bright and open, with plenty of windows and a beautiful view. They kindly let us check in early, which I really appreciated after traveling. The hotel is also in a great spot, with lots to do within walking distance if you want to explore without driving. My one small wish is that breakfast ran a bit later, until 11:00. I had a great stay at the Element Hotel in Detroit and would definitely recommend it.

The hotel is nice and centrally located, but management never replied after I told them the front desk wouldn’t honor Marriott’s guaranteed late checkout policy for titanium guests. When hotels ignore corporate policies whenever it suits them, their benefits start to feel as unpredictable as the mixed bag you get from non-branded hotels.
