Hotel Bennett

We ducked under The Bennett’s awning when a downpour caught us walking back from dinner during a bachelorette trip. The doormen invited us in and pointed us toward the bar to wait it out. Logan took great care of us there, making the drinks we asked for and being incredibly accommodating. It turned into one of the best parts of our trip. The place is beautiful, with such carefully considered decor, and it was a classy, unexpected refuge from the rain.

Kevin, the lead concierge, made a big difference on our three-day trip with the kids. I called at the last minute for restaurant reservations, and he also helped us plan activities in a good order, including the eco tour and Magnolia Plantation. His restaurant suggestions were all incredible. The hotel’s in a great spot, and its holiday decorations, from the gingerbread house to the Santa mailbox, were lovely. Everyone was nice and the rooms were fine, though service could be better: turndown was missed one day, and some requests took a while. Breakfast seemed very expensive. We had a pleasant visit, with only a few wrinkles.

Lillian at the bar was a standout. On Monday evening she saw us trying to have a cocktail while keeping up with our toddler, and kindly played with him and held him so we could relax for a few minutes. That small kindness meant a lot. The hotel also left us a complimentary dessert and a sweet handwritten note. We came to Hotel Bennett for our first family trip, and the staff were thoughtful from the start. They provided a crib and pack-and-play, plus a teddy bear, cozy blanket, and bath set for our little one. The holiday decorations made the hotel feel magical, and everyone we met was warm and welcoming. We loved our stay and hope to return with these memories to look forward to.

The soaking tub with retractable doors let us take in the park view, which was a highlight of our couples weekend. We also loved the elegant rooms, gorgeous hotel, and convenient location. We’d spent a lot of time choosing between The Charleston Place and Hotel Bennett, and were happy with our choice. The whole stay felt perfect, with no complaints.
