AC Hotel by Marriott Charlotte SouthPark

It’s a pretty typical Marriott in a newer building, and I didn’t run into any major problems. Just know parking costs $10 a night plus tax, despite what other reviews led me to expect. A space isn’t guaranteed either, so you can get back late, find nowhere to park, and still have to pay.

The restaurant was the weak spot for me. The food choices there aren't very appealing, and there isn't much nearby, though it would do in a pinch. Otherwise, this newer Marriott feels bright, clean and modern. It’s next to the AC hotel, has free parking, and is easy to reach in the south part of the city. The employees were helpful and friendly, the rooms are large, and the beds are comfortable. Hot water pressure was great, and the amenities are all there. There's also a nice big gym and pool.

The snack prices were reasonable, about what I'd expect elsewhere. The hotel also has nice amenities, friendly staff, great rooms, and an exceptional gym, one of the best. I rated it two stars instead of four because they charged $8 for a single contact lens case, the kind an ophthalmologist gives you with a sample. For a suburban location outside the city center, that felt greedy. Who knows what small clippers would cost? Bring what you need.

The M Club Lounge was a highlight, with a breakfast better than average. The property seemed newly renovated, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Fantastic place. I'd be glad to stay here again.
