Hampton Inn & Suites Charlotte-Arrowood Rd.

We paid $135 a night, and the hotel was good for that price. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and newly updated, and breakfast was enjoyable, with the usual continental choices: one meat, eggs, bread, cereal, and pastries. The heat in room 705 kept running until it reached the set temperature, then the air conditioning came on and cooled it down to that same target. We froze all night in the middle of January. Maintenance is supposed to come by, so we’ll see how that goes.

I finally got to stay here over Valentine’s Day weekend in 2026, after years of passing the hotel on my annual solo leisure trips to Charlotte, on the way to Carowinds or Carolina Place Mall. I loved it. The building is a bit small, but it looks gorgeous inside and out and really stands out by the Arrowood Rd exit off I-77 SOUTH toward South Carolina. Dominick made check-in easy and was very kind. He checked that my rate was right and explained the nightly charges. The elevators worked smoothly, the rooms are VERY spacious, and breakfast was great, especially the waffles with sugar-free syrup. If you want a Hilton brand at one of the cheaper rates near Charlotte Uptown and lots of attractions, this place works. I’d absolutely stay again.

My first job was at a Doubletree hotel, and I can tell the standard is still the same. Hilton, you never miss. Ten out of ten across the board! I booked here after my original hotel overbooked, and it was the best decision. The place was quiet and CLEEEEAN, the lighting was great everywhere, and the other guests were friendly. The staff were involved and attentive, which feels rare these days. I wish I’d taken a picture of the towel duck folded on my bed at check-in. It made me feel like a VIP!

Having to swipe a key card every time I used the elevator was a hassle, especially when I was carrying things. The towels were also very stiff and rough, like they’d dried on a line, and could use fabric softener. The chicken sausage was absolutely disgusting. Breakfast also had brown-orange juice and milk that was watered down and sitting at room temperature. And don’t tell guests they’re getting the last two rooms when it’s obvious the place is barely occupied.
