Hampton Inn & Suites Charlotte/South Park at Phillips Place

We’ve stayed at this location once before, but we won’t be coming back. The room we were given was a downgrade from what we reserved and paid for. When I asked at the desk why nobody had told us at check-in, the woman who checked us in got upset and said she had just started work. She was on the same computer she’d used to check us in. Her coworker also gave me attitude for asking. When I pushed for the room we’d paid for, Kristen, I think that was her name, became even more irritated. She called someone and kept going to the back room. After 20 minutes, she handed my husband keys without a word. He asked if they were for the correct room, and she said yes. There was no apology for the wrong room or the wait, and no customer service. We weren’t rude; we only questioned being downgraded while paying the same rate. Terrible service.

During our November 2025 visit, my wife and I found the location ideal. Whole Foods, Starbucks, and plenty of shops and restaurants were all within walking distance. Our room was spacious and clean, with a great view of the nearby shops and restaurants. Everyone at the hotel was great, but the Property Manager and Valet Parking Assistant really stood out. They were professional and personable at the same time. This was definitely one of the best properties we’ve stayed at.

I’ve been staying here for years, and on this recent trip for a nearby funeral, the hotel was as clean and convenient as ever for restaurants and shopping. Fergie was especially warm and accommodating. He went out of his way to help with what we needed, and it meant a lot. Thank you, Fergie!

This was my first stay here, and I couldn’t have picked a better place. The rooms were spacious and clean. At the front desk, the staff were kind, professional, and patient. They treated each guest checking in or out as if that person were the only one there.
