Red Lion Hotel Charlotte

The bed was clean and the water worked, but the rest of the stay was pretty rough. The hotel felt humid and sticky, and the shuttle was hot and muggy too, with no AC. We had to roll the driver’s windows down to get any air moving. We ended up here after our flight was delayed overnight and had to call for the shuttle, which I understand. The meal vouchers were for the hotel “restaurant,” but it seemed like they only had a microwave and a countertop oven. It was the worst meal I’ve had in a long time. If an airline sends you here, I hope you see this review and get it changed before you leave the counter.

We stayed four nights and had a great room. It was quiet and very clean, and the Wi-Fi worked the whole time. When we had a small issue with the toilet, they fixed it right away. The staff were friendly too. We’ve stayed here before under a different name, and I think the rooms have been remodeled since then.

American Airlines covered the stay, so it was better than nothing, I guess. But the room wasn’t clean, the bathroom was disgusting, and there were roaches in people’s rooms. I couldn’t sleep at all because it was so nasty. I wouldn’t spend my own money here.

The location was the only good thing about this hotel. At first I thought it seemed decent for the price, but before long I spotted two kinds of roaches in the bathroom. I attached photos of the bigger and smaller ones. The noise didn’t help either: loud music played in the inside area connecting the two hotels. I was so worried about the roaches that I barely slept. I’d never stay here again, and I’m talking with Priceline in hopes of getting a full refund. Look elsewhere if you want the rest you expect. You’ll regret staying here.
