The concierge team and barista get 5/5 from me, and the amenities are 4/5. But after over a month living here and waiting so long for repairs, the property itself is 1/5. Maintenance requests and property management are also 1/5. The concierge team is the highlight of the building. They’re helpful, friendly, and kind, and they go above and beyond for the community. Ben from Leasing has also been helpful. The gym is great and rarely crowded, the coffee shop is a nice addition, and the sauna is well kept and works well. It was too cold for me to try the pool, though it looked nice. Some amenities show their age, but overall they feel a bit upscale. My frustration is with the older appliances and the way maintenance requests have been handled, with little ownership. The washer door got stuck shut with wet bedding inside, and I was concerned about mold. I submitted that request on 12/13/2025, and the door was replaced on 12/17/2025 after a lot of exhausting back and forth with management. They said the washer was “cleaned,” but I’m not sure all the mold was removed. They gave me a gift card to replace the damaged bedding. The dishwasher’s top rack is broken. I requested a repair on 11/27/2025, and was told the third-party company the property hires had never ordered the part and had “dropped the ball.” I was still waiting for a fix. UPDATE: they have ordered a new machine. The kitchen faucet and pipes are leaking. I submitted that request on 12/11/2025, and I’m still waiting for a resolution. These appliances get used daily or weekly, so not being able to use them has really strained my first month in a new building. I tried to sort this out without posting a negative review. I spoke with the helpful concierge, Ben from Leasing, and the property manager, who said it would be resolved. They said nothing was moving because a maintenance team manager was out. It’s now been three weeks since I spoke with the property manager and there’s still no fix.

Everyone on staff has been amazing, always ready to help. I felt welcome even before I was approved, and I'm happy I found this place. Moving from New Jersey was a big step, but Gina Pickeral made it so much easier. Her email replies were quick, and she gave me such a warm, comfortable welcome. Everyone in the building seemed to know her and would smile when they saw her during our tour. Thank you all 😊

I've lived at the Vue in downtown Charlotte for over five years and have seen other people in the concierge role. Shekinah Carpenter stands out for the steady warmth and energy she brings to the community. Even small gestures toward residents and their dogs help people feel they belong, and her positive, engaged presence makes living here better. Shekinah's character is what makes her such a strong representative of the organization. In my career, I've worked alongside many talented professionals, and I've found that a successful business needs to recognize that what sets exceptional people apart isn't just skill, but character.
