Morehead Inn

Brooke, the event planner, listened carefully to what we wanted for my daughter’s baby shower and brought our ideas to life in the beautiful Library room, adding to its lovely atmosphere. The event at The Morehead Inn was just right. We chose the brunch menu from Something Classic, with an omelette chef who was a big hit, along with a Cobb salad bar, pastries, fresh fruit, and chicken salad tea sandwiches. The food looked lovely, tasted delicious, and there was plenty. They kindly packed the leftovers for us, too. The wait staff were attentive, professional, and kind throughout. I’d recommend the inn to anyone looking for a venue that feels unique and special.

The Morehead Inn’s staircase, courtyard, and fire pit were among our favorite spots, and the venue looked stunning in photos. Our roughly 85-person wedding fit comfortably without feeling crowded, and family and friends kept complimenting how beautiful and distinctive the place was. Brooke was wonderful from the start, answering our questions, guiding the planning, and helping bring our vision to life just as we hoped. Having the wedding party stay onsite was a huge bonus, giving us extra time together in a charming, comfortable setting, and the Solarium made a perfect bridal suite. The catering was phenomenal, especially the beef bourguignon short ribs, and the drinks kept the celebration going. All the catering and bartending staff were very kind. Matthew was attentive and helpful while we were there, and breakfast was delicious. We loved having our wedding at the inn and couldn’t recommend it more. It made for a magical, memorable day.

That fireplace made the overnight work trip feel a lot less like staying in a standard hotel. I got to sit and work by it, and had a nice chat with Diamond about the charm of old houses. The room was cozy and had good snacks and drinks, including a huge glass bottle of water, which I really appreciated. A memorable stay.

The room insect problem (see photos) ended up overshadowing what could have been a lovely stay. I also saw mold in one of the rooms and attached a photo. When I raised my concern, Hannah, the manager, came across as dismissive and patronizing, which was especially disappointing. I expected better from management, and hope these issues are taken seriously. The location is beautiful, though, and the staff were wonderful overall. Matthew was particularly amazing and made the experience much better.
