The parking lot is big and well lit, and the rooms have mini-fridges and wall-mounted flat-screen TVs. The place was clean and well maintained. Customer service was terrible, and the motel is absolutely not worth a penny. There were bedbugs, the sheets hadn’t been changed, and the bed had dirt stains. The comforters had cigarette burns. This place is trash and should be shut down. It’s not a good look for Charlotte. I don’t even want to give this dump one star. Throw the whole motel away, owners and workers included.

I use a wheelchair, and the man at the front desk refused to give us a first-floor room. If zero stars were an option, that’s what I’d leave. I’ll be looking into who to report him to.

For less than $90 a room, the rooms are average, but the clerks are friendly. Most things you need are within walking distance, and everything else is a short walk to the light rail and then a quick ride away. The hotel also has some great neighbors staying nearby. A few are very entrepreneurial, with men offering to sell me anything I might need and women offering to keep me company if I help them out with a few dollars. Every so often there’s a little Jerry Springer drama right outside your window, free of charge. Locals in the nearby homes and apartments sometimes set off fireworks at all hours, but it’s usually just one or two firecrackers before they drive away pretty quickly, probably so they don’t get caught. Bring extra change and spare cigarettes for the people walking along the sidewalk and hanging around the gas station, so you’ll be ready to give them one or the other. This place is awesome, and I’d recommend it to anyone!
