The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte

The amenities here made it easy to unwind. I loved having several relaxation rooms, some co-ed and some not, and the indoor heated pool and whirlpool on the 18th floor were a lovely surprise. The women’s Himalayan salt room, steam room, and sauna were a real treat. I especially enjoyed finishing my massage with the 12-head shower in the women’s locker room. It was so refreshing. The people made the experience just as special. Iilyah and Amaya at reception were warm and accommodating from the start, and Luda, my spa attendant, was the best I’ve ever had. I’m a serious spa enthusiast and have visited luxury spas around the world, but her attentive, professional, warm approach set a new standard for me. This was my first visit to The Ritz-Carlton Spa in Charlotte, and I’m already planning another before the end of the month. The service was impeccable, and I can’t wait to come back.

Everything felt fresh, spotless, and well cared for. The mattress was cushy, the sheets soft, there were loads of pillows, and even the duvet had a proper enclosed cover. The throw pillows were made from high-end designer fabric, too. Compared with another pricey, dated, poorly maintained hotel a few blocks away where I stayed for a concert a few months ago, this was such a nice change. I was here for a quick work overnight before an event at the hotel the next day. The staff were kind and helpful, and someone promptly helped with my bag. Worth it. Love it.

I felt disrespected, humiliated, and targeted because I’m a Black woman. Kelly and Rafael’s behavior felt unprofessional and racist. Someone else had already paid my tab, but they repeatedly refused to believe it and kept saying I hadn’t paid. They even tried to charge me twice for the amount I’d already paid. They also kept sending a Black woman over to me with the tab, which made me feel as if they assumed I couldn’t afford it. Their actions were insulting and discriminatory. It’s upsetting that Black women still face this kind of racial profiling in everyday situations. I can’t recommend Kelly and Rafael. I hope they reflect on what they did and learn about the harm this kind of bias causes. No one should be treated this way.

The rooftop lounge was a lovely place to toast our anniversary, with a beautiful city view and a relaxed feel. The staff also went out of their way to recognize the occasion, which made our evening feel memorable. My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary this past Saturday, October 4th, at The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte. The room was comfortable and luxurious, with thoughtful touches, and the hotel itself looked stunning, modern, elegant, and immaculately kept. From arrival on, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism and felt welcomed and celebrated. The service and presentation were thoughtful throughout. We left feeling cared for and appreciated, and excited to return. Highly recommended for a first-class stay in the heart of Charlotte.
