Doubletree Charlottesville

The atrium pool area is heated, and the hotel was very quiet. I slept well and would definitely return for the value. There’s free parking, with no extra resort fee as far as I remember, and check-in was smooth. They greeted us warmly and offered water and a cookie. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a TV that suits the room, plus coffee, a microwave, and a fridge. The bathroom lighting is soft. It’s conveniently just off route 29, near Walmart and Starbucks, and about 15-20 minutes from the university.

My stay was awful, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. I found bed bugs under the bed, and saw roaches in the lobby and hallways. There was mold in the bathroom too, just disgusting. One staff member was extremely disrespectful, and the manager was rude and condescending. If I could give it zero out of five, I would. TERRIBLE HOTEL.

I won’t stay here again. The room was filthy, with a dead roach in the bathroom and an unclean toilet. I’d post photos, but I don’t want to make people sick. The woman at check-in was nice, which was the only good part. They say it’s a three-star hotel, but it should be one. Before spending money on the lobby, they need to put it into the 1990s rooms and pest control.

The room was dirty, and the door didn’t always close properly. Housekeeping walked in on me without warning, then got angry that I hadn’t shut the door. There was no hot water either, so I ended up taking an ice-cold shower. I was on a business trip and went to the restaurant to check emails in the morning. They told me that if I wasn’t there for a meeting, I had to eat breakfast or leave. I chose breakfast so I wouldn’t be kicked out of the hotel I was staying at, and paid with my personal credit card. Later, the front desk refused to give me the $15 meal credit because I’d used that card. Dirty rooms, no hot water, and rude staff.
