The dog relief area was the main reason I booked this hotel as a halfway stop on my drive from Michigan to Florida to visit family. I’d found it while looking for a fenced place where my dogs could go off leash. The hotel and rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly. On my second stay I requested a first-floor room, but the one I’d booked wasn’t available there. They made sure I had a second-floor room instead. Perfect! Breakfast was on point, with a great selection compared with other hotels I’ve stayed in. The hotel is off the beaten path from I-75, across from a QT. I got in early enough on my second stay to see the property in daylight. I love the area, and the drive in was breathtaking. The enclosed dog area was mostly fine, but the ground near the gate opening was muddy and worn from people walking through. Some pavers or pea gravel there would help, and my pups got muddy paws. The gate was damaged, and I worried my smaller dog could squeeze through if she tried. There was also a gap in the corner of the fence, blocked by a bench on its side. That wasn’t good. On my second stay there were many more dogs, and as a pet owner I’d love to see the area maintained better.
