Oliver, Ben’s dog, was the highlight of my weekend. He’s definitely the hostel mascot! The hostel is downtown, handy for restaurants and bars, and check-in was easy. Ben helped me get oriented and gave me useful information about the property and parking. My room was quiet and very clean, and guests kept the bathrooms clean under an honor system. There’s also a spacious kitchen guests can use. I thoroughly enjoyed the stay and highly recommend Scenic City Hostel.

The location makes it easy to walk to lots of restaurants, and I appreciated being able to keep a couple of things in the refrigerator. Self check-in was great, and even with most of the other rooms booked, it felt quiet. Parking was frustrating: I forgot to pay Monday morning before checking out and got a $30 ticket, since parking is free only on weekends. I’d give it five stars if they had their own parking.

We loved staying here. The bedroom was really clean and beautifully decorated, and there are coffee shops, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. It’s such an upscale-feeling hostel. There’s no parking on site, but a cheap lot is nearby. Save your money and stay here!

The location is so convenient, just a stone’s throw from some great taprooms, breweries, nightlife, and local food. I travel for a living and spend at least half the month in hotels around the country, and I’m picky about cleanliness. This hostel was cleaner than most upscale hotels. They gave me a tour, and every room had its own feel while fitting the overall atmosphere. The staff were caring and friendly, and clearly wanted us to have a good stay. If you’re after a hostel experience, this place will spoil you.

Chattanooga felt like a little slice of heaven, the closest I’ve found to Europe in the USA. There’s so much to explore: walks over Walnut Bridge and along Market Street, the Art District, Whole Foods, hiking, biking, horseback riding, trails, parks, mountains, and water. Friendly people, vegan restaurants, and a feeling of safety all in one place. At Scenic City Hostel, I felt safe and cared for from day one to day five, and could come and go as I pleased. The rooms felt fresh, the shared spaces were open, and the thoughtful design helped me rest. With six bathrooms, four of them with showers, it rarely felt like sharing. It’s like a big happy home, comfortable and always clean and pretty. Thanks, Scenic City Hostel, Misty, and Ben. I’ll definitely be back!
