Days Inn Chattanooga/Hamilton Place

After a 12-hour drive, the person in the office was so friendly and kind. I wish I'd gotten his name. The room was clean and comfortable, and it had everything we needed. The place could use some refreshing, but at $55 it was great. We arrived late, so I appreciated how easy it was to get in and out. It's close to the highway, which was noisy. Next time I'll ask for a room toward the back.

The room and towels smelled clean, the bed was comfortable, and everything in the room worked. My wife and I travel a lot, and I don't think I've given a hotel or restaurant five stars across the board in the past decade. I wipe down everything with Clorox wipes as soon as I enter any hotel room. These came away without dirt, dust, or residue, which tells me they really cleaned. You can't even get that at Marriott. There was noise outside when the hotel started filling up around 7:00 p.m., but it was quiet by 9:00. I saw hotel employees walking the grounds, which I don't think I've seen before. Maybe the staff had things under control, or maybe everyone was just tired and went to bed. Either way, the people running the place care, and the rooms and attention to the grounds show it. We'll stay again next time we're in Chattanooga. Some people complain about the continental breakfast, but it's not much, and there are restaurants nearby if you want more. I've also seen complaints about the old-school cable TV instead of Netflix or other streaming services. I'm happy the TV worked. Cable is easier to use in a hotel room, and I don't want to sign into streaming services with my credentials. I'd take a clean room and comfortable bed over that any day. My only complaint is that check-in is at 4:00 p.m., though that's the case at every hotel these days, and there's no getting around it.

The staff really went out of their way to help when I realized I’d left my Firestick remote behind. The room was clean and comfortable, and we even managed breakfast on the run. We loved our stay, especially for such a good price. Amazing service. Highly recommend!

The bed was comfortable, which was about the only good thing about this stay. I spent most of the time trying not to leave the room, and I wouldn’t recommend the place. I found an insect in the room, and the shower head was stuck in one position. Worse, the toilet leaked across the floor every time I flushed. I used the towels to clean it up, then called the desk for replacements so I could shower. They said I had to come get them myself. I explained I had no key and didn’t want to leave the room unsecured. They offered to let me back in, but wouldn’t bring the towels. At check-in, I was told the card reader was down, so they couldn’t give me a room key. An employee kindly unlocked the door and advised me to jam the latch in the frame if I went out so the door wouldn’t lock. This is a hotel with exterior room access, which made that suggestion feel especially reassuring. 🙃 One of my least pleasant hotel stays, with security and plumbing problems and a lot of DIY hospitality.
