The dog relief area was the main reason I booked this hotel as a halfway stop on my drive from Michigan to Florida to visit family. I’d found it while looking for a fenced place where my dogs could go off leash. The hotel and rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly. On my second stay I requested a first-floor room, but the one I’d booked wasn’t available there. They made sure I had a second-floor room instead. Perfect! Breakfast was on point, with a great selection compared with other hotels I’ve stayed in. The hotel is off the beaten path from I-75, across from a QT. I got in early enough on my second stay to see the property in daylight. I love the area, and the drive in was breathtaking. The enclosed dog area was mostly fine, but the ground near the gate opening was muddy and worn from people walking through. Some pavers or pea gravel there would help, and my pups got muddy paws. The gate was damaged, and I worried my smaller dog could squeeze through if she tried. There was also a gap in the corner of the fence, blocked by a bench on its side. That wasn’t good. On my second stay there were many more dogs, and as a pet owner I’d love to see the area maintained better.
The cleanliness at these La Quinta hotels keeps pleasantly surprising me, and this location met the same standards I’ve seen elsewhere. Shamar at the front desk was amazing, patient while helping with my booking, and accommodating with whatever I needed. He even helped keep my two rowdy kids occupied, which was amazing for me. Breakfast was 10/10, with a touchless pancake maker and biscuits and gravy. Thanks for a great stay!
We couldn’t leave our valuables in the room because the door still opened with a push, no key card, even after we returned that evening and checked again. Chayanne apologized, but the hotel didn’t have another room of the type I’d booked, a 2 Queen Suite. We took our valuables with us again. That night, neither of us could leave the room unless the other was awake or out of the shower, since we couldn’t safely deadbolt the door. You shouldn’t have to worry about that in a hotel. My Mom and I had booked two nights, January 16 and 17, 2026, to visit tourist stops. On Saturday morning, January 17, as we were leaving for our 10:30 am reservation, we discovered the door wasn’t staying locked. We tried pulling it tightly, opening and closing it, then pushing it closed from inside while the other waited outside. Nothing worked. Without a key card, it opened easily. At the desk, Ruth said she could only call maintenance. We went back up to collect our things because we didn’t feel comfortable leaving them unsecured. Ruth asked, “who would really go checking which doors would be unlocked” anyways. That missed the point: a hotel room should be secure. I asked her to call when maintenance had fixed it. We were unsettled and rushed, already late for our timed outing. Not a good start to the day. Around noon, Ruth called to say she’d gone up herself and pushed on the door “with one finger,” and it was secured. She didn’t say whether maintenance had actually come to fix it. When we got back from our day out to freshen up and change before dinner, we checked again and the door still opened with a finger push.
I came down from Morristown with our new puppy for a little getaway while my husband was working in Lookout Valley. The room was spotless, with a big, comfortable bed and cozy bedding, and the bathroom was immaculate. The staff were wonderful, and the small dog area worked perfectly for us. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chattanooga.
The fenced, gated dog area was my favorite part. It’s roomy enough for dogs to sniff around and burn off their zoomies. The rooms are close to outside doors, which made it easy to take them out quietly, and the LVP floors are practical if there’s an accident. My room was clean and stocked with shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion, and the shower was really nice. Breakfast was plentiful, and the pancake machine was great. One of the best pet-friendly hotels I’ve stayed at in a long time.
