Days Inn Fultondale

We were in town for my father-in-law's funeral and had a Wyndham discount through my job, so we chose this place. We were going to be busy and mostly just needed somewhere to sleep, and after spending so much on the trip, I didn't want to pay over a hundred dollars a night for that. I wasn't expecting much, but the hotel was surprisingly clean, and I'm glad we stayed.

We've found our new favorite place. The bathroom and shower are huge, with safety rails all around the shower and enough room for a wheelchair or walker. Everything was very clean, and it's pet friendly. The bed is comfy, my husband loves the breakfast, and my cat loves the window seat. The toilets aren't hinky at all, they flush everything, unlike the iffy ones where we used to stay. This time we had a tiny fridge, but it worked great and froze our freezer packs overnight. We felt safe in the well-lit parking area. I've stayed in sketchy places before, and this isn't one. And those $100 holds are standard procedure everywhere I've stayed, you get the money back. 🙄

This was our second stay, and we're going to look at other lodging next time. The pillowcase was almost wet and the sheets were damp, as if they'd been taken out of the dryer too soon. Housekeeping needs to step it up. There was no late checkout available either. Keep in mind that the smoking rooms are in worse shape.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed the stay. The room was clean, a reasonable size, and had the basic amenities. Almost perfect for a quick visit, with no major complaints.
