The Chattanoogan Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton

The hotel and grounds are beautiful, and the staff were very nice. But the lighting in the bathroom was so dim that, as a woman, I had to do my makeup by the window. I checked all the lights, and they were working. Even the makeup mirror barely lit up. There wasn’t a microwave either, and I would have liked to have one.

The hotel was beautiful and nicely decorated, and in general everything was great. The bed was great too. A few small things in the room could use attention: the sink plug wouldn’t release the water, I found a stray hair here and there, and there were no plastic bags in the trash cans. The staff really made the stay. The valet guy was super nice and helpful, the receptionist was helpful, and the bar lady was a superstar. The two-man jazz group was outstanding.

We were lucky to get an appointment at the spa, where Patrick worked us in for a fantastic couples massage. The spa experience was exactly what we wanted, and we’ll definitely return. My husband and I had a quick weekend getaway, and everyone we met on staff was cheerful and pleasant. Kevin greeted us at check-in and was a joy to deal with, very helpful and full of restaurant and local activity recommendations.

Justin was great, and the service was good. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance, and the fitness center is really good. The room itself was fine, though it could use more light. The bathroom door kept closing on its own, and the AC wasn't working. Since it was cold outside, that didn't cause much trouble.
