I’m here now for a wedding I'm hosting just up the road, across the PA border. The location was really convenient, and the online photos made it seem like a safe, reasonably priced choice. I’m from Pittsburgh and moved to Morgantown. I hadn’t planned to stay here, but after several family members and guests booked, I decided to join them. I wish I’d stayed home. Most of my wedding guests, including me, can’t use the TV because there’s no internet connection at the back of the hotel. The room is bare bones, with no dresser, so I’m putting my clothes on the nightstand. The hallway smells like my grandparents’ basement, and the mold inside the ice machine drain is disturbing. The bathroom door won’t close, and the walls are a patchwork of colors from whatever paint they used after repairs. The website pictures must be from when the resort first opened. I’m embarrassed and disappointed that I booked this place. My soon to be wife and I aren’t staying the second night, so I guess I’ll have to eat that cost. I wish I’d researched more, visited, and asked to see the rooms. I started worrying weeks ago when the hotel manager never returned my call or replied to my email. By then, too many other people had booked for me to back out. I’m seething with disappointment and embarrassment, and wish with all my heart I hadn’t booked here.

I was here for a wedding, and the food was cold. The red potatoes were nearly raw, and most of the roast beef was fat. The hot buffet breakfast was another mess: nobody seemed sure whether the front desk or the person making the food collected the $17.00, and there were no signs. It definitely wasn't worth it. The hotel is run down, with no security. The elevator seems to be on its last legs, and I can't see how it passed inspection. There was no security in the bar after the wedding, either. A female employee begged the party not to leave her alone with a creepy guy who wasn't with the wedding guests. The manager finally arrived as the guy was leaving, and said they had been down the street at a bar with the GM. I've never stayed in a worse hotel in 40 years. If I owned it, I'd tear it down and build a new one. Do yourself a favor and stay at a chain hotel, then drive over to play golf. If you're going to a wedding here, eat first. In short, close the hotel.

The room was okay, I guess, though the air conditioner couldn't really cool it. The indoor pool was a nice surprise and refreshing, but it was dirty. There was trash and random stuff all over the parking lot, too. Outside, the deck felt dangerous, with boards and balusters missing. I was lucky not to fall through. At 4 PM, breakfast mess was still sitting in the eating area. Disgusting. The employees were utterly useless. As for the golf course, the greens weren't terrible, but the tee boxes were garbage and the fairways were a swampy mix of crabgrass, dirt, and rocks, or completely underwater. This is the worst golf resort I've ever experienced, and calling it a resort is a flat-out lie. It's a disaster from top to bottom and not worth it for weddings, getaways, golf, parties, retreats, or anything else. Save your money and sanity and go somewhere else.

Someone ended up with back pain by the end of our two-night stay because the pull-out couch had almost no support, just a metal bar across the frame. They hadn't had back problems before. For what we paid for a two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom stay, I expected the basics to work. One of the two showers didn't work at all, and the couch was extremely outdated.
