My New Year was ruined here. Save yourself the heartache. The first room looked like nobody had cleaned it, with food on the walls, a smoke alarm removed and left in the dresser, and the safety latch screws falling out. The second room looked clean at first, but there were bugs around the microwave. The TV blocked gaming systems, and it wouldn’t let me do anything else through the HDMI connections either. I just wanted to play a simple game of Connections for New Year’s, but the cable choices were sad. The front desk lady was on the lobby couch enjoying dinner and chatting with her gaming friends, but she couldn’t fix it or explain it. They wouldn’t refund me on New Year’s Eve, even though the hotel had ruined my night. You really do get what you pay for here, and there’s very little. Don’t book a room unless you like dirty rooms and no entertainment worth having. Never again.

The part that upset me most was how this was handled. No one contacted us during or right after our stay about a concern, and we weren’t given a chance to explain or address it before the $100 cleaning fee and permanent ban. An inspection walkthrough or even a notice might have cleared things up. The manager said there was a long DNR list and that we weren’t welcome back. It felt dismissive instead of focused on a solution. More transparency and a chance to respond would have made a real difference. The accusation was that we smoked in the room and that ashes were found behind the sink. That isn’t true. My fiancé and I don’t smoke cigarettes at all, and we don’t smoke inside rooms. We only smoke flower, outside away from the building or in our car, out of respect for hotel rules and other guests. We’re between homes right now, but both working, and were just looking for a safe place to eat and rest. An older gentleman was smoking right outside our door during the stay, so I don’t know how they concluded it came from our room. Our stay at the Travelodge in Chehalis was genuinely good. The room was comfortable and we had no problems while there, which made the aftermath confusing and disappointing. When I tried to book again, I learned we’d been put on the DNR list, meaning we could never stay there again. It took several days of trying to get an explanation before I was told the reason.

My son got bitten up because this place has bed bugs. The floor was disgusting, with sunken spots, and things were broken, including the mirror and the door. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again.

The second room was just as bad as the first, with the same moldy smell, dirty conditions, and neglect all around. Management did move us after we complained, but it didn’t improve anything. The first room reeked of mold, the bathroom door wouldn’t shut, the walls had filthy stains and holes, and the paint was chipped and peeling. Even the washcloths were stained. This hotel is absolutely disgusting and clearly has no standards for cleanliness or maintenance. Don’t waste your money here, stay anywhere else.
