Loyd Hall Plantation

After breakfast, Ms. Beulah showed us around and shared stories from her time there, and she was happy to answer our questions. She’s such a sweet lady, and the breakfast she made was delicious. My husband and I spent a night in the Fitzgerald Suite for Valentines, while our friends stayed in the Jenkins Suite. The house is beautiful, and we enjoyed exploring the grounds and visiting together. We’d definitely recommend it and plan to come back.

The room was spacious and the bed super comfortable. It’s a quiet spot to unplug, with a lot of history and so much potential. Breakfast was awesome, and Ms Beulah is a gem. I’d stay again if I’m in the area, and hope they’ve found a better grounds keeper by then. The property looks neglected, though. The landscaping needs lots and lots of attention, with poison Ivy, weeds, trees, and vines overgrown. The pool didn’t seem to be working properly, and the water was cloudy and full of leaves. I understand keeping a historical building’s character, but basic cleaning, pressure washing, paint, hedge trimming, and weed eating would do wonders for the place. Maybe it would help with the snakes too, which I assume is why there are mothballs all around the cabins. 🤢 There didn’t seem to be any staff available in the afternoons or evenings, so if you need something, you just take your envelope and key and you’re on your own. Bring snacks, food, drinks, and coffee filters, since there weren’t any in the room and nowhere nearby for a quick supply stop.

The cottages were immaculate, and the staff were amazing. We also enjoyed the awesome breakfast and the tour of the mansion. My wife and I spent a night there recently, and it was a wonderful experience. I’d definitely recommend staying whenever you get the chance. We’ll be back soon!

Mindy, Chris, and management were all five stars for being flexible and accommodating. My cousin and I have made it a tradition to bring our kids together here each summer, and we hope to keep doing it for years to come!
