The renovations are coming along nicely, and the rates are excellent. Mr Patel's hospitality by itself is top tier. Definitely worth staying here if you travel to Cheraw often.

I was in Cheraw for four days after a death in the family, but the room was so deplorable that I changed my flight and accepted a layover just to leave. There was dried blood on the covers and on the wall by the bathroom entrance. The tub and the rest of the bathroom were disgusting, and the old linen felt gross. It just wasn't clean at all. The front desk seemed unconcerned about the blood stains. I've been coming to cheraw since childhood, and this hotel brings down the value of the place.

The exterior looks rough, but my room was fine, with newer-looking furnishings and a clean bed. I was there for work last week, and it stayed quiet and clean even with a whole company of construction workers at the hotel. They're clearly trying to upgrade. Everything worked except the hot water, which took around four minutes to heat up for a shower. The manager was very nice and accommodating, and the wifi worked well. Once you get past the outside, I really had no complaints.

We paid at least $600 for rooms over those two weeks, though neither stay was a full week, and got no offer of a discount, even with the room problems. The side we were assigned to was packed while the other side was nearly empty, so I don't understand why they didn't spread people out. At first things seemed fine, but after my daughter used the sink, the water sat there clogged and gnats appeared. Water also leaked from the ceiling over the toilet when people showered upstairs. We told the front desk, but they wouldn't move us or refund us, so we were stuck for the days we'd paid for. We didn't see roaches or bedbugs. Still, some price reduction for a multi-night stay or room problems would have been fair. We weren't offered fresh towels, toilet paper, or trash pickup. We had to take trash to the dumpster, go to the front desk for towels, then bring used ones back ourselves. Housekeeping should handle those basics, even if guests decline room cleaning. The rooms are outdated, and some paint and air fresheners would help. Checkout was 11, but staff started banging on the door just after 10 to tell us to get ready or ask if we were staying. Ridiculous.

I had a problem-free night and would probably stay again. The room was clean and functional, and the staff I spoke with were friendly and attentive. The building was conveniently located and handsomely decorated. I did spot a bug that looked like a roach, though. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for the service.
