Shana deserves recognition for stepping in and sorting things out with kindness, professionalism, and clear communication. The room itself was clean, though the property is showing wear: stained blinds, chipped mirrors, dirty window seals, and room phones that don't work. I've stayed at Aloft Chesapeake Greenbrier many times and usually love it. This visit started well, with a warm, friendly woman checking me in the night before. The next morning, though, Alicia didn't greet me or make eye contact, and came across as rude and dismissive. I had booked breakfast with my room, but she insisted it wasn't included and charged me. After I showed proof, she didn't apologize. She said my card would be charged twice and that I'd have to wait days for a refund. Her attitude and unprofessional appearance added to how poorly the situation was handled. This used to be my favorite hotel around here. The uneven service and lack of upkeep are getting hard to ignore. I hope management addresses it, because caring staff like Shana deserve better representation.

The room was clean and nice, and the bed was comfortable, though it sat too low. I mentioned to the front desk that Velcro might keep the mattress from sliding off its platform, which caused a risk of falling. Trash pickup and bed making would've been welcome. We usually got fresh towels, but they were occasionally missed. Still, it was better than some other places.

The lounge was the one bright spot. The staff were excellent and the bartenders were amazing, which we needed after the room experience. The sheets were Queen size on a king bed, the dog next door barked, there was no shower soap, and the TV's internet didn't work.

The location made it easy to get to restaurants and shopping, and I liked the cozy lounge. My room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel has a lively, modern feel with good amenities. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and everything went smoothly from check-in through checkout. I had a wonderful stay at Aloft Chesapeake and would recommend it for either work or a leisure trip.

The front desk staff had a nasty attitude as soon as I walked in. I didn't feel welcome or valued, and customer service really can make or break a stay. I took my business elsewhere and won't be back.
