Hampton Inn & Suites Detroit/Chesterfield Township

My family and I had an amazing overnight stay from 11/26/25 to 11/27/25. My son and I have auditory processing issues, so we checked every 15 minutes to see how clear the pool area was. It was busy with families, which is completely how it should be, but we knew we wouldn’t enjoy it at those times. Near the end of family swim time, we asked the front desk if my six-year-old could use the pool during adult-only hours. MEL said yes, as long as we respected the other guests and followed the pool rules, including that after 9 it’s adult time only. She was accommodating, pleasant, and understanding of my family’s needs and our request, silly as they may seem to some. Thanks so much, MEL and Hampton Inn, for a great staycation.

The entrance door to the room wasn’t hung properly. And the shower in our “newly remodeled room” was filthy. There was scum around the handle and on the doors, which were also shown in the photos. Grime was caked on the shower frame, and the doors didn’t move properly on their tracks. The shutoff valves were rusted too. There wasn’t a bathroom exhaust fan, so the mirrors fogged up after a shower. The showerhead seemed as cheap as they could find. Water barely came out, and the pressure was so low I could hardly rinse my hair.

The room was very comfortable, and the staff were helpful. The location suited me well: my workplace was about 4 minutes away, and there were several restaurants nearby. One tip: activate your digital key in the Hilton Honor app before leaving the front desk, since staff need to approve it. The physical cards didn’t work consistently, and you don’t want to have to return to the lobby.

I’ve been traveling in and out of Chesterfield for work over the past few weeks, and Robert and Mel are why I keep choosing this hotel. They’ve gone out of their way to make me feel welcome. I work in the service industry, and their kindness and customer service deserve recognition. I’ll definitely be back, and I hope future guests know they’ll be in good hands at this Hampton inn.
