I proposed to my wife here, and she said YES!!!! From the moment you arrive, Ojai Valley Inn & Spa feels like an escape. It’s set in the Ojai Valley, with the Topatopa Mountains all around, and its hundreds of acres have oak trees, gardens, landscaped grounds, and quiet paths for walking. The atmosphere makes it easy to slow down and relax. There’s plenty to do on the property, from several pools and tennis courts to hiking trails and a championship golf course. The spa is among California’s best known, and it’s huge, with dozens of treatment rooms, wellness classes, saunas, and places to unwind. The rooms are spacious and comfortable in a classic California resort style. Many come with private terraces overlooking the valley, and the bathrooms have large soaking tubs and marble finishes, like something in a high-end home. Service is consistently excellent, and the grounds are incredibly peaceful. With so many restaurants and activities on site, you could easily spend a whole weekend without leaving. It’s a luxury resort, and the price reflects that, but it’s a beautiful, well-rounded getaway within reach of Los Angeles or Orange County.

Over Memorial Day Weekend, we picked up a casual dinner from Jimmy’s Pub and ate on the lawn beside the fire pits. I loved that the hotel felt relaxed and family-friendly, and that we could wander in and enjoy the grounds without a room booking or dining reservation. Servers also came around the lawn to take orders for drinks and food from a separate menu. A+ experience. I hope to return for a little staycation as a hotel guest.

We came for a birthday meal at The Oak, and the gorgeous views and excellent service made it a lovely celebration. They knew it was my birthday and surprised me with dessert, a really nice touch. The front desk was extremely friendly and showed us where to find the restaurant. After dinner, we walked around the beautiful grounds. The hotel looked lovely from ground level, and I hope to stay there someday. I can’t honestly rate the rooms since we didn’t stay overnight. I’d recommend the place for an event, whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, proposal, or wedding.

Every person we met was warm and welcoming, and the gorgeous setting had us feeling relaxed and happy as soon as we arrived. We had the best time at Ojai Valley Inn, and it exceeded what we expected. It feels classy and high-end while still being truly family-friendly. It would be wonderful for a couples trip or adults-only escape, and it was also perfect with our daughter. She had the best time, which made it even more special for us. Our air conditioning had a small hiccup, but the team sorted it out seamlessly. Morgan was an absolute gem and went above and beyond to take care of everything. We felt genuinely looked after. We made such lovely memories here and can’t wait to come back.

We had a large room in the classic part of the hotel. It was restored and in great shape without feeling stuffy or rundown, and the bed was terrific. The views are killer, the food is great, the golf course is challenging but playable, and my wife and I thought the spa was one of the best we’ve visited. It’s a charming resort that works well for groups of any size, families, or anyone who wants a beautiful place to get away. It’s big but somehow doesn’t feel that way. Service is polished and efficient, with real pride and hospitality, while still feeling comfortable rather than formal. We felt almost over-pampered, but not quite. You can’t go wrong staying here. It’s that good.
