Chicago Marriott Midway

That evening at the bar, the woman running the restaurant and bar was doing almost everything on her own, with just one other person helping, while both spaces were full. She stayed calm and gave fantastic service through all the airport chaos. The crowd even applauded her. I hope Marriott management recognizes and rewards her. She turned a miserable weather delay at Midway last weekend, when so many of us were stuck overnight, into a peaceful evening. We left a good tip, and I hope others did too. Thank you!

I travel all over the country and have never been charged for early check-in before. At 2:00, the front desk clerk abruptly said I’d have to pay $25, even though I’m Titanium, or wait until 4. The room was ready. I agreed to pay, but I won’t stay here again. The amount doesn’t matter to me, it’s the principle.

The room was cozy, clean, and really nice, with a large bathroom. Protestors showed up around 9:30 and made themselves heard while I was trying to sleep before my 6 am flight. At some point they were moved away from the entrance, and I managed to fall asleep. I’d stay again. I’m a Marriott girl and always will be, and I know the staff weren’t at fault.

I had an early flight, so starting the morning with a shower that had no pressure was rough. The front desk said hot water might take 10-15 minutes, and even if it did arrive, the pressure was still terrible. I stay at Marriott and Hilton because I expect consistent quality and a nice hot shower. This was a bad start to the day.
