Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile

The location made it easy to get to The Bean, Navy Pier, and other spots. The gym was big enough for what we needed, and the elevators were quick, which was nice on the upper floors. Scott was friendly and helpful when I called for information. Darnell got our stay off to a great start by unloading and bringing our luggage, then guiding me out of the loading area and stopping traffic so I could reach self parking. Check-in was easy. Enrique and Justin at 511 lounge were friendly and fun despite being swamped during the evening reception. They were great with the kids, and the food was excellent and accommodating. The two made-to-order breakfast staff were so fast and nice, though I forgot their names. The gentleman bussing tables and cleaning up at breakfast, whose name starts with R, was a gem. We can’t wait to stay here again.

The suite was spacious and comfortable, and the location couldn’t have been better. The included made-to-order breakfast was beyond what I’ve had at other hotels. I also appreciated the voucher for lunch at Monarch and Lion, which is a fantastic restaurant. I highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to return. From the start, the service was first-rate. Phillip quickly helped with my bags and was so kind and welcoming. Stephanie made check-in easy and helped me order lunch so I could get to my next meeting on time. I travel with a service dog, so we needed special arrangements for cleaning times. Once our schedules were clear, Rusha handled it promptly and with great attention to detail.

We stayed in a corner king suite, which had plenty of room for our family of four with small kids. It was clean and modern, and the heated underground garage was easy to navigate. The pool temperature was just right for kids who like warm water, and I’d definitely stay here again with them. The location is ideal in the mag mile, an easy short walk to navy pier and more. Be aware there’s a mandatory destination charge added to the taxes and fees. It comes with $25 a day to use at the embassy suites restaurant sky lounge or lion and monarch for lunch.

The location is excellent, parking and check-in were easy, and the staff were very nice. Still, for a four-star Embassy Suites, we weren’t impressed. One elevator was out, adding more than 10 minutes to trips out of our room. The hotel looked worn down, and the food was average. Our room felt dirty too. There was trash left behind by the previous guests, and the surfaces looked like they needed wiping. The whole place seemed pretty beat up.
