The location is great, but I wouldn’t stay here again. We visited in February on a beautiful 60 degree day, and the room was already at 75 degrees when we checked in. There was no way to cool it down except opening the windows, and that didn’t work. It was still 74 degrees when we checked out. The bathroom also needs a refresh. It had no fan to clear moisture and wasn’t very clean.

Damarzo Valdez was the only good part of this hotel for me. He was professional and understanding, even though he couldn’t get me a refund or compensation. He showed me several rooms in person and made sure the one I ended up in was to my liking. The others had stained sheets too. He deserves five stars. I’ve been a Hilton member since 2016 and am a Diamond member, but this was my worst stay at a Hilton. I was in town on business this past weekend. At first the room looked dated but clean, so I didn’t inspect it closely until after a 30 minute meeting. Then I found bugs, followed by stains on the sheets. I went to housekeeping several times asking for clean sheets but couldn’t find any without stains. The towels had the same stains. It was disgusting, and I wanted to leave. I showed the photos to staff in the lobby and explained my frustration. They sent housekeeping to look at the room and made me wait over 40 minutes, despite saying it would take 15. I asked for GM Jeremy Schaffer. He seemed set on charging me a $109 day rate based on what housekeeping told him. Director of Rooms Nicole Herma told him I had showered, which was completely false. I asked to speak with her several times, but she never came down. Jeremy was unprofessional and unwilling to work with me. He claimed I’d been in the room for over four hours, though I was there less than two. The camera footage and check-in time support what I’m saying. He also walked away while I was talking about how he was treating me. I don’t know why he’s in that role if he can’t handle complaints properly. I’d planned to stay a couple of days but checked out the next morning. If you’re considering this hotel for business or leisure, I wouldn’t. Unless stained sheets and bugs are what you’re after.

My room on the 25th floor had a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding skyscrapers and Lake Michigan. It was spacious, clean, comfortable, and had updated furniture that gave it a more modern feel. The staff were attentive and friendly, too. The main downside was a musty smell in the room. I could notice it, but it didn’t take over the space. The hotel is a great option downtown near the Magnificent Mile, with shopping and dining on N Michigan Avenue just 1 or 2 blocks away. It’s a pleasant walk, and being a little off the main strip means less of the traffic and chaos. Parking downtown can be a headache, so I’d HIGHLY recommend spending the extra 84 or so dollars for valet parking. It is expensive, but I’d still put this hotel near the top of my Chicago picks.

The beach view added a peaceful touch, and the room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. Everything worked, and there was plenty of space to unwind after exploring. For what I paid, it was worth it. I’ve stayed here twice because so many major attractions are within walking distance. The staff were very nice on both visits, and check-in was quick and easy. Great service, a convenient location, and a clean room make this a solid, affordable stay. I’d gladly return and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The location is great and the staff are good, but I had hot or warm water for only 2 of my 5 nights. The first day I was in too much of a rush to get to work to report it. On the second day I still had no hot water, so I called the front desk. An engineer fixed it, but only temporarily. For the next couple of days the water was warm. Then on my last day it was cold again. Maintenance came back and fixed it, but about two minutes into my shower it turned cold once more. I stay at Hiltons often, but I’ll never stay at this one again.
