Nonantum Resort

The bartenders and band were awesome, the food was great, and the venue itself was gorgeous. I’d come back for another event, though I’d feel nervous asking the staff for anything. Before the reception even started, interactions with the front desk and wedding staff felt awkward, curt, and oddly combative. Maybe it was a long day or stress behind the scenes, but by the end they weren’t hiding that they wanted everyone out. I understand they need to keep people from staying after closing, but being treated like we were intruding before the reception had even begun put a sour note on an otherwise great wedding.

Breakfast was excellent, included, and started at 7:30. It felt like a $25-or-more breakfast elsewhere. The place is historic and quaint, with friendly staff, and it’s about 0.75 miles from the town square. You can borrow bikes to get there, or use the shuttle to Dock Square on the hour during the busiest months. There was plenty of free parking onsite until wedding guests started arriving, then finding a space was almost impossible. The bathroom was tiny with no counter space, and since its only mirrors were inside, it was hard for more than one person to get ready at once. A mirror outside the bathroom would help. Shower pressure wasn’t great, though the handheld head helped alongside the rain-style one. The room wasn’t well soundproofed inside or outside; there’s a sound machine, and they can bring a sleep kit if you ask. The elevator was very slow, but it was nice to have. The HVAC responded once I figured it out: I had to stand near the wall unit and aim the remote at it.

Families with little kids would especially enjoy this resort. It’s kid friendly, with lovely views, a fun property, beautiful rooms, and a great location. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were amazing. I’d highly recommend it.

The included breakfast was a highlight, and the whole hotel was clean. We had our two infants with us, and it was easy to walk to the cutest downtown area while still having a huge lawn by the water. Every staff member was kind and clearly wanted guests to enjoy their stay. We loved everything about Nonantum and can’t wait to come back.
