Hotel Felix River North/Magnificent Mile

The staff were polite and professional, and housekeeping checked with me before coming by at a convenient time. Even though my room looked out onto the main road, the curtains and insulation kept things comfortable and private, and the noise was managed well.

The lobby bar was a nice place to have coffee or tea, and in the evenings people gathered there for drinks and conversation. The location was handy too, with plenty of restaurants and places to walk to. Marina explained everything and made us feel welcome, and the friendly staff kept checking whether we needed help throughout our stay. We had a wonderful time at Felix Hotel from the moment we arrived, and left with only good memories. We’d happily recommend it for a weekend in Chicago.

For a central downtown hotel, the price was reasonable, and the area was easy to explore on foot. Those were the real upsides for me. I stayed on 12/31, and the noise made it very hard to sleep. My room’s toilet leaked, so I could hear water running all night whenever things got quiet. The walls were thin enough that I heard water when neighbors showered, too, along with two groups of young guests loudly knocking on each other’s doors late at night. It sounded like they were pounding on my own door. If you need quiet and a good night’s rest, I wouldn’t stay here. The noise outweighed the location and affordability for me, and I wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

Aldo at the front desk was so welcoming and kind, and went above and beyond to help us. We’re really grateful. The hotel’s beautiful, and there’s a coffee bar too. Highly recommend!
