I wish zero stars were an option, because this stay was nowhere near worth $400. The room itself was decent enough, but I booked an overnight for my husband and me for the auto show and chose a HIGH FLOOR SOUTH FACING LAKE VIEW. Instead I got the 16th floor and a lousy lake view. They said the building was closed for construction. Where did the website say that? It didn't. I felt completely misled. We planned to have dinner at the ARC bar. We looked at the menu, then returned to find it had changed to a "limited" menu. The soup was awful, and $100 got us two soups, a horrid salad, wings, and fruit. Then the pool door was locked and painted over, and the pool was empty. I was told the pool was being removed. Again, where on the website was that? It listed a POOL and a GYM. They did try to make it up to me by comping the valet and part of the bad dinner. A manager promised 5k points, but they never came. After I complained, I got 8k points, so where are the 5k? I should get at least $200 back because this stay was nowhere close to worth $400. They still haven't put on their website that the south tower is closed for construction. I was duped, and I'll never stay here again.

Valet parking was easy to use, and they let us check out late without charging us. We were in town for the 2026 Chicago Auto Show at the convention center connected to the hotel. Our room had been recently remodeled and was clean, and everyone on staff was friendly and respectful.

Having public transportation close by made getting around easy. My college friends and I came to Chicago in November 2025 to see the Minnesota Gophers play Northwestern at Wrigley Field, and my sister-in-law suggested the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place because a colleague of hers was running the show there. The staff were courteous and helpful, the rooms comfortable, and the hotel facilities top-notch. We had a wonderful trip and would gladly recommend the Hyatt Regency McCormick place to visitors.

It’s quiet at night, though you’re a little removed from restaurants and nightlife. The direct connection to McCormick Place is especially handy for an event or conference, and service is professional and efficient, if more businesslike than warm. Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with lake or skyline views depending on the room. Everything feels well organized, and the hotel does what you need it to.

The Arc servers are especially friendly, and there are a couple of restaurants plus a bar to choose from. We’ve stayed here for the Chicago Auto Show three years running because the venue is connected to the hotel, just a short walk from the room. The rooms have always been clean and comfortable, and the staff is pretty helpful. We’ll keep coming back for the show.
