The Pittsfield Hotel Apartments Suites

The food was the highlight. My Banana Bread French Toast with nuts, powdered sugar, and caramel was delicious, and my better half really liked the unusual pastrami omelet. I wasn’t keen on the drip coffee, though the banana bread more than made up for it. The setting is a little odd. It’s in a quiet hotel-apartment building with scaffolding and construction outside, so it wasn’t easy to spot. There were 15-20 cafe tables in the roomy entryway, which felt unusual, and the basement bathroom was a bit creepy because the place seemed so deserted. Don’t let the atmosphere put you off, the food is worth it.

The only real drawback during my year at Pittsfield Apartments was the lack of amenities. There were no shared spaces like a gym or work area, and my apartment didn’t have a dishwasher or garbage disposal. Everything else made it a great first apartment in Chicago. Rent was affordable for such a prime Loop location, with easy highway access. The staff were kind, and with security and front desk coverage around the clock, I always felt safe. The elevators were quick and usually available, and maintenance was outstanding, problems were fixed the same day. I loved living at Pittsfield Apartments and highly recommend it if you want a relatively affordable place in Downtown Chicago.

We spent two years at Pittsfield Apartments and had a great experience. Milos, the property manager, was professional whenever we needed help, and everyone we met was very friendly. The place was clean, too. We highly recommend these apartments for a good downtown Chicago experience.

I wanted to view the property before sharing my financial details, but when I called, the “owner” said I had to prove my finances and get a credit check just to come see it. I said I’d rather look around first. He replied “good luck” and hung up. I’ve never been asked for a credit check and financial information before deciding whether I even want to sign. That’s a lot of sensitive information to hand over before setting foot inside and seeing whether the place is real or worth considering. The phone call felt hostile and unprofessional, and after reading the one-star reviews, my first impression that the interaction was rude seems right. I’d also wondered why there were so many available apartments in such a seemingly perfect location. Now the vacancies make more sense to me. This sounds like a horrible place to live. Be vigilant out there!
