Motel 6 Chico, CA

I’ve stayed at a lot of Motel 6s, and this is the nicest one I’ve been to. The staff are kind and professional, and they had a room ready at 9am for an extra early check-in. Rooms have cable TV, Wi-Fi, a refrigerator, and a microwave. The shower is small, but the water pressure is powerful. I’ll definitely be back.

We stay here often because it’s close to everything we come to Chico for and offers great value. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable, and there’s little, if any, noise. The air conditioning works well, and our dog can stay with us at no extra cost. Showers always have hot water, the towels are fresh and soft, the ice is plentiful, and the pool looks refreshing. Today I left an item in our room at checkout. The front desk assistant took me back to retrieve it right away. Some of the reviews make you raise an eyebrow. There’s a freezer refrigerator, and for a 21-day stay you have to be off for 7 days before returning. The laundromat needs a room key. A heavy wash in the barrel washer costs $2.75, and there are three washers and one dryer. It’s close to highway 99, so there’s noise. Rates aren’t consistent or tiered for extended stays, they vary by day. As of 11/1/25, the current daily rate is $84,90. Some good folks, though.

Zac at the front desk gave us amazing service this week. He was the best person we spoke with, and he’s honest and trustworthy. This is an excellent place, and you’re lucky to have him on staff. I’d give him a raise.
