Quality Inn Chico

I always book this hotel when I’m in Chico. The rooms are clean and reasonably priced, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. There are lots of breakfast options, though the protein selection is lacking.

The rooms were nice, and management was friendly, but there was continual noise from what were probably a few guests until after 2:00 a.m. I don’t know what other people will do in reviews, but I’m going to start docking hotels when management does nothing about noisy guests. Maybe if we can be charged extra incidentals or other fees when checking in with a credit card, being really loud and disruptive overnight could bring an extra fee too. Breakfast wasn’t up to par either. It was mostly carbs and yogurt. Eggs prepared a few different ways and some kind of meat would have been appreciated.

The motel is in a decent spot, fairly close to downtown. The room felt damp, the towels seemed to have been put away before they were completely dry, and there were no bathroom hooks for them. Housekeeping was the worst part: our room wasn’t cleaned two days in a row, and we didn’t get fresh towels either. We had put out the do not disturb sign, then removed it between 9:30 and 10 am each day when we left. When I told the desk, I was told they don’t clean if the sign is out. I asked why they didn’t come back to rooms that weren’t vacated early, and was told we had to tell the desk when we left so they would do that. The desk attendants seemed unconcerned that this had happened twice. Based on this experience, I can’t recommend the place.

The area was quiet, the beds comfortable, and we slept great. The location is excellent, very close to downtown and easy to walk to. The facilities were clean and well maintained, staff were very friendly, and breakfast was really good. I was impressed and glad we stayed here.
