After Booking.com confirmed my payment covered the room, the hotel still refused to check us in unless we paid again. We spent 45 minutes in the parking lot trying to sort it out, then Booking.com told us the hotel was refusing service and cancelled the reservation. Later, someone from the hotel called and scolded me for contacting customer service, even though they had suggested I do that. She kept interrupting and talking over me, and seemed to be laughing, so I ended the call. At the desk, when I showed the woman my payment confirmations and asked about the supposed $200 “booking.com fee,” she became nasty. I’ve never been spoken down to like that. I booked and prepaid through Booking.com, and I waited a few weeks before writing this to cool off, but I’m still shocked by how I was treated, as a person as much as a customer. Maybe this place is nice and the staff are kind for other guests, but that wasn’t my experience. We went elsewhere. I won’t be back.
