Chincoteague Inn

The location was handy, with restaurants and little shops close by, and only a short drive to the wildlife refuge. Our room was spacious, very clean, and had a comfortable bed. A really nice hotel.

We've stayed here a few times, but I especially remember a short getaway a few years ago. We wanted basic lodging, and at check-in they gave us exactly the room we had asked for, on the highest floor so we could hear the birds in the morning. The room was very clean. Renovations were underway around the property, and it looked like steady progress was being made. The staff were courteous and kind, and the service was outstanding. I'd happily book here again if we visit Chincoteague soon.

The room was clean and large, with two Queen beds, and the pool area had plenty of chairs, umbrella tables, a cabana, and even some comfy rocking chairs. The bathroom, though, was tiny, barely enough room to change clothes or get into a swimsuit. We also had a fire alarm malfunction twice during our stay. The first was Sunday night, 7/27, our very first night, which was outrageous and annoying. Still, we managed and met some new friends.

It's not a flashy hotel, but it's been remodeled, is clean, and the service is reliable. Many places are within walking distance. I gave it five stars because it delivered the advertised amenities. For a budget stay, the clean rooms and friendly staff meet the need.
