Marina Bay Hotel & Suites, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Suzy Adams, the Front Office Manager, made my stay at the Marina Bay Hotel in Chincoteague memorable. She greeted me warmly when I arrived and made check-in smooth. The whole team, including Suzy, Josh, and Sharon, were professional, attentive to details, and went out of their way to handle my requests. They made me feel welcome and valued.

September 2025 stay. The hotel is nice and the staff are great, but I didn’t sleep well. We could hear kids running around upstairs like a buffalo stampede after 11 PM. We had to call the front desk twice on two consecutive nights so they’d contact the third-floor rooms above us. If you stay, ask for a third-floor room. Breakfast was a letdown over our four days: the same things repeated, with no waffles or bacon.

The staff were the standout for me, genuinely friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is comfortable, with a thoughtful design and nice amenities. It also has a welcome change of look from the sameness of chain hotels. In winter, I appreciated the lounge with draft beer and crab cakes even more than the pool. I spent two nights and would highly recommend it.

We decided not to stay and asked for a refund after seeing the rooms. When Suzy offered to inspect a room on the third floor for us to move into, we opened the door to a pile of hair just inside. Our first room was dirty too: hair in the tub drain and on the pillows, brown spots in the tub, dust on every surface, beer cans and old food in the trash, and bright red stains across the carpet. The beds had been made to look clean, but the room hadn’t been cleaned. Even the lobby bathroom was dirty. I’d give zero stars if I could.
