Days Inn by Wyndham Chipley

The one reason I'd return is the staff. The hotel needs work and more training and help to get it back to where it used to be. When an unused room's A/C is unplugged, the bedding should be removed until it's rented, including the bed skirt. The cloth chairs should be swapped for hardwood ones, and the bathroom door needs fixing. It was funny seeing my wife freak out over a roach, but pest control needs to be checked to make sure they're doing their job.

We were able to walk to Walmart, Wendy's, the smoke shop, the shoe store, and other places, which was great after a long drive. The hotel sits back from the road, so it felt quiet and safer for my four-year-old daughter. Breakfast was simple, with two kinds of bagels and toppings, cereal, milk, coffee, and muffins, but enough to get the morning going. I'm from Tampa, FL, and come to Chipley now and then with my mother-in-law and daughter to see her father. Last time we stayed across the street, and it wasn't anything special, so I didn't expect much when we came in here. The man at the desk was pleasant and accommodating when we asked for two rooms next to each other, one smoking and one non-smoking. We got side-by-side rooms, neither smelled of cigarettes, and both were spacious and clean. It was peaceful and quiet, and I'll stay here next time we drive up.

The front desk person was nice and the bed was comfortable, but the room smelled moldy and flies were everywhere. We had to kill them ourselves, and more kept coming in through the night. The tub in the bathroom was leaking too. It was disgusting.

It's in a good spot, with Walmart close enough to walk to. The room was clean and comfortable, the bed had newer, crisp linens, and the shower had good water pressure.
