I keep choosing this place for business trips. The rooms are clean, the beds are really comfortable, and you can choose from different pillows. Staff are always friendly. There’s also a cute downtown corridor to explore, and an excellent restaurant on site. It’s a bit high-end, but worth it. The sides come in huge portions, so I’d suggest ordering half portions.

The set tables in the breakfast area were apparently not meant for breakfast, but there was nothing saying that. My three kids and I had sat there while the area was busy when “Jon” came over and started moving our plates and silverware. I put them back, then he moved them again as my kids started their cereal. When I asked him to leave their silverware alone, he said it was “his” and asked if I wanted to do the dishes. He also said we could sit there, but weren’t supposed to. It was weird and uncomfortable. My seven-year-old had dropped a fork and knife and placed them at the side of the table so she wouldn’t use them. Jon put them back on a place setting, where someone might have eaten from them after they’d been on the floor. I took a picture of the area. The gentleman in the white sweatshirt was where we were sitting. I spoke with the front desk. They said the set tables weren’t for breakfast and acknowledged there was no sign, then made it sound like I should have known. The front desk wasn’t helpful. I hardly ever write reviews, but this whole situation was extremely odd. If they don’t want guests sitting there, they could close the area off. I have no idea what they were thinking.

The rooms are very quiet, and the shower has fantastic pressure with a showerhead tall enough for someone who’s six feet. The lighting in my room was a little dim. It can be hard to find the front desk staff sometimes, though they’re friendly once you do. Nice hotel, and I’d stay again.

We’ve made this our annual stop for the trip from LaCrosse to Chippewa Falls and the Leinie Lodge, usually booking five rooms for five guys. It’s handy for our outings. After midnight we often end up at the Snout Bar, then leave through its back door into the alley, where the Cobblestone is about 40 steps away or less. At midnight I picked up a Lotza Motza pizza from the lobby vending area. They have an oven there, as well as microwave meals. I set my phone alarm, went to crash in my room for 15 minutes, then came back when it rang to get the pizza. Another great Chippewa Falls adventure. Breakfast has lots of tasty choices and coffee. After a night out, the five of us might have appreciated a bloody mary bar. The hotel has a pool we’ve never tried, though I’m sure it’s nice. The place was clean, and the staff working Saturday 11/15/25 to 11/16/25 were professional, friendly, and attentive. We’ll return as usual unless we go to Vegas next year. We were sad the Blue Marble closed this past summer. We used to eat there after a few drinks at the Lodge.

There’s a great restaurant attached, so we didn’t need to go out for a meal. The hotel is downtown, the room is spacious and straightforward, and breakfast was top-notch. I especially liked the mini biscuits served in the sausage gravy. Excellent stay.
