Cypress Inn & Suites By OYO - Chocowinity, NC Hwy 17

We’ve been staying here for a couple of months while our house is being finished. It’s an older hotel and obviously not the Ritz, but it’s affordable, and the manager and owner are kind and understanding. The rooms have been clean, and when anything came up, they dealt with it right away. It was pretty quiet during our stay, and the pool was great in the summer. It’s been a good experience overall.

The only good thing was how quiet the area was. We left with the room still unacceptable, and I couldn’t even get a picture of the big roaches because I was busy killing them. There were roaches in the bathtub too, and big and small ones around the room. The air didn’t work, and the room hadn’t been cleaned. The toilet paper was a partly used roll, less than half left, and there was no room phone. The WiFi password they gave us was wrong, and the connection kept dropping. I had to call the front desk from my own phone to get the right password, and when I called with a question, the person there had to ask someone else for the answer. The light in the ice room didn’t work either. Check your things for bugs when you leave.

There were dead bugs and blood spots on the sheets, hair in the sink and shower, and the toilet hadn’t been cleaned. We knew this wasn’t a five star hotel and only asked to move because of the bed bugs. The next room was even worse, with bed bugs and lice all over a badly stained mattress. We asked for our money back, but they refused. Absolutely disgusting.

The rooms were a joke. There were stains on the mattress, bugs all over, blood on the curtains, and the floor was peeling up. It smelled bad and the floors hadn’t even been swept. They stick to their no refunds policy whatever the reason.
