Budget Inn

The room was clean and well kept, and the rate was fair. It's an easy stop just off the highway, and the woman who checked us in was very nice.

We left after about an hour because gnats kept landing on us and on my computer while I was in bed. The ground-floor room also had a green, musty carpet that looked water damaged. I asked for a refund and was refused. This place should be reported to the Health Dept. It deserves five stars below zero.

The manager was nice enough, but this place needs a serious cleanup or to be torn down and started over. The room smelled of stale smoke, so I kept my hanging clothes in the car and my suitcase zipped up. The carpet was filthy, and I wore my shoes the whole time. The stained bedspread looked like it had never been washed, and all the furniture was dirty and marked with cigarette burns. I was there for two nights for my son's graduation at Virginia Tech. I'm not fussy about hotels and can manage a cheap room if it's clean, but this was the dirtiest place I've stayed. I paid 150 a night because everything nearby was sold out and I was desperate. It was so bad I nearly slept in my car. I absolutely do not recommend it at any price.

I felt really uneasy talking to the night-shift man at the front desk about the rooms. The place was dirty and disgusting, and there were bed bugs. He was rude and mean, told me to leave, and offered no solution. When I said I would write a review, he shouted, “you will regret it.” I wouldn't give this place a star, but had to choose one to post.
