Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Denver Airport

It's a decent hotel fairly close to the airport, though expensive. The shuttle was supposed to come at :15 and :45, according to the front desk, but it never appeared when I got there at 9:35. I watched other hotels make several trips while I waited. When I finally got in, I was told their system was down. The front desk attendant walked me to the room, scanned me in, then left without giving me a key. So when I went out, I had to return to the desk to be let back in. For the morning shuttle, I was told I had to reserve a place and that it only ran on the hour, but it arrived at the hotel at :10 past, and nobody checked passenger names.

We didn't try breakfast, and the room was typical and fine. The shuttle got us there on time, and the ride took about 10 minutes. There were already passengers aboard; it made no stops after ours, and still had three spaces left. The main hassle is getting a seat. Reserve as soon as you arrive, or call ahead. The three of us got on only after the driver called to check for room. Our friends couldn't all fit at the time they needed, so one parent had to go 30 minutes earlier. Luckily, their kids are teenagers. Uber is an option too. Not seeing signs about paid parking was a plus. Apparently, about a year ago they started charging for parking at hotels in the area, possibly the city of Denver. This was my fourth trip that year, staying at different hotels before flights, and the first time I hadn't seen pay parking signs. We returned our rental car that evening, so it didn't matter for us anyway.

The rooms were clean and a decent size, and the staff were helpful. Everything went smoothly. The airport shuttle was easy to use, though it fills up, so you might need an Uber.

My room was clean, but the front desk service was awful. The clerk handed me the key and started talking to another employee without explaining anything, so I had to ask where my room was. The internet didn't work, and she offered no help getting connected. She seemed not to care about providing decent service and needs training, or a different line of work.
