Quality Inn Christiansburg - Blacksburg

This hotel has gone downhill over the years. Renovations are underway, but they seem poorly done. The first room looked like someone had used it. In the next one, the toilet paper holder had been ripped off the wall, there was no toilet paper or soap, no soap dispensers, and the TV didn’t work. Two stars would be generous.

The place is basic, not fancy like the Four Seasons, but that suited us. Our room was clean and the staff were very nice, so I’d gladly return. The room had a working coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, and a TV with a decent number of options. The bed was clean and comfortable, and I could adjust the A/C and heat to exactly how I like it. Parking was easy, with no trouble finding a spot.

The front desk staff were pleasant, accommodating, and understanding, which was the one good part of our stay. The room was missing all its toiletries, and we had to move because of a water leak. I also found a fingernail in the bedding and hair all over the towel.

The beds were comfortable, but my family and I agreed we wouldn’t stay here again when passing through. Our room was disgusting: the floor was so dirty our feet turned black, the drapes were broken, and the freezer was too gross to use. There was a kitchenette, but no pots, pans, plates, or bowls, so we couldn’t use the stovetop. It was labeled a renovated room, though the hairdryer looked like it came from the 1990s. The rooms all have exterior access, and there’s no elevator to the second floor.
