The room was dirty and smelled bad, and the blankets were gross. That's about what you'd expect for around $100 a night, but when prices go up during Va Tech's busy periods, pay a little extra and stay somewhere else.

The room's heat didn't work, and they had no other room available. The hotel was dirty, and the desk service was very, very poor. There were no-smoking signs, yet the hallway smelled strongly of cigarettes. It didn't feel like a clean or healthy place. I wouldn't recommend it for babies or small children. It might work for truck drivers or people who don't have another choice.

The room was fine, and the woman who checked me in and out was very pleasant. It's an older hotel, but very clean. The lobby was the worst part, with stale cigarette smoke. There's all kinds of restaurants and shopping very close by. We've stayed here before and probably will again.

The beds were the problem. They were lumpy and hard, and we didn't get a good night's sleep, which is the whole point of staying somewhere when you're away. The rest of the room was great: a huge bathroom, a table and chairs, a full-size couch, two big dressers, a large TV, two nightstands, plenty of light, and two queen beds in a double suite. The hotel and room were clean, especially for an inexpensive place. Service was great, everyone was helpful and friendly, and the light breakfast helped tide us over until we could get more food. The vending machine was handy for an evening snack.
