I’d stayed here 12 nights over the previous three months, with my most recent stay January 10-12. I was also an employee. Before heading to work, I checked with the front desk about adding another night and was told it was fine, so I booked it. Around noon the next day, they called to cancel the extension and said I had an hour to get everything out. They claimed my belongings smelled. I left work, but my key card didn’t work. The replacement they made didn’t work either. The staff had left the front area, and I eventually found several of them gathered in the kitchen area after following their voices. I politely asked them to redo the card. I carried out everything I could manage, including a car seat, then returned the card and asked to speak with someone. The woman who said she was the manager told me she could smell me from behind the desk. My car had been totaled two weeks earlier, so I was left by the roadside with my children’s things and mine, waiting for someone to come get us. I’m hurt and disappointed. The night before, I’d been bragging about the hotel. They also contacted my direct boss and said I’d been smoking in the room and aggressive with the front desk. I was seen going outside to smoke, and they can check the camera. There wasn’t an outdoor trash can, so I put the cigarette butts in my room’s trash rather than littering the property. My Hilton discount was later taken away, and I no longer work for the company. The property we stayed at before this one, also with Hilton, didn’t have a working shower, so maybe that played a part too. I had to leave some belongings behind because I couldn’t carry it all. If my son’s Nintendo Switch turns up among them, I’d be grateful to get it back. I don’t have much else left of him. What a terrible company to work for or stay with, to treat its EMPLOYEES this way.
